Drake Opens Up On Why He Featured Wizkid

One Dance by Drake which was released a month
ago got a lot of reactions, especially in Nigeria
where most people made various meme’s about
not hearing Wizkid’s voice on the track. Some
people even said they didn’t realized Wizkid sang
on the track until they were told.
The track almost broke the internet as
some fans were in support of Wizkid’s success,
some others felt Wizkid begged for the feature and
that he went as far as paying drake to feature him
on the track.

People are too quick to forget that this isn’t their
first collaboration as Drake was featured on
Wizkid’s Ojuelegba remix which proved to be a
success.
One dance, though controversial, it is a successful
track as it was on the playlist of everyone and it
was lip synced by everyone on social.
In an interview for the 100th issue of FADER
Magazine, Drake spoke for the first time about why
he jumped on the surprise remix for Wizkid’s
Ojuelegba.
Drake was asked if part of his motivation for the
featured was a desire to build audiences in foreign
markets, to become a truly global star, having
already conquered North America, Drake; “I just did
it because I was in the moment, I wasn’t thinking
like, ‘Oh man, I gotta get my brand up in
Nigeria.’” (He hastens to add, with classic Drake
politeness, “Not to say that’s not important. I’m
super-honoured to be on that song.” Drake said.
This is to say that Drake was more than happy to
feature Wizkid song as he saw Wizkid as Nigeria’s
STAR BOY. Wizkid has been discharged of all
accusations and he has been declared not guilty
based on the allegations of him paying drake for
the feature on the single one dance. Although Celeb
Police is yet to get a response from Wizkid or his
management but from our investigations its safe to
close this case and the rumours.
