With Canadian rapper, Drake ‘s release of his fourth
studio album, VIEWS today (April 29), the music
blogosphere have been buzzing with reactions to the
new project.
In the midst of the buzz, the Toronto native sat down
with Billboard to give an insight on the creative
processes and models embraced in crafting the album.
One interesting topic the OVO founder touched on is his
current relationship with Young Money label mate, Nicki
Minaj . The pair was once rumoured to be lovebirds, with
both alluding to the insinuations on several songs.
With many curious to know what impact his infamous
squabble with Nicki’s boyfriend, MMG rapper Meek Mill
has had on his once blossoming relationship with Nicki,
Drake revealed he hasn’t spoken to her in a while.
The ‘Started From the Bottom’ hitmaker was
widely considered by many to have emerged victorious
in the feud, but his relationship with Nicki has been left
strained.
‘I don’t really talk to Nicki. Another person I have a lot of
love for … She dealt with me how I would expect her to
— with class. I always have respect and love for her.
Unfortunately, we haven’t spoke,’ he told Billboard.
