Victor Valdés Joins Standard Liège On Loan From Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has
departed the club for Standard Liege on a six-month
loan deal, the Premier League outfit have confirmed.
The Spain international, 34, had announced on Thursday
that he would be leaving Louis van Gaal’s team via
social media, but now the Old Trafford outfit have now
made official the deal, which brings to a close a difficult
spell with a side he joined in October 2014.
Valdes arrived on a free transfer following his decision
to leave Barcelona at the end of the previous campaign,
which was complicated by a serious knee injury.
However, he made only two appearances for the Red
Devils and grew increasingly frustrated with his role on
the sidelines.
The 34-year-old Spain international had posted a
message on Twitter last Thursday above a picture of
United’s training ground saying: “Thank you all for your
support during these months of hard work for me. I will
never forget! See you soon!”
