The nominations for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards
were announced this week and some performers were
not pleased they did not see their name among the
lists of trophy hopefuls.
Two of those artists are Maybach Music Group
representatives Wale and Omarion. MMG’s head Rick
Ross sat down with Power 106 to talk about his team
getting snubbed.
“I’m not looking for the Grammys. I’m not even
tripping on that,” said Ross. “We all know one thing
about Wale. Wale is one of the greatest artists,
greatest songwriters. His track record is impeccable,
and his music speaks for itself.”
Omarion was more vocal about his disappointment
than Wale. The former B2K member sent out a series
of tweets claiming his song “Post To Be” with Chris
Brown and Jhené Aiko was one of the greatest R&B
collaborations of all time.
Twitter users did not agree with Omarion, and he was
hit with a torrent of backlash on the social media site.
However, Rozay is backing up Omarion’s suggestion
about his hit single.
“That ‘Post To Be’ is one of the biggest records. That
Omarion platinum plaque is so beautiful on our wall,
so don’t sleep on the homie. When you’re a true
competitor and that’s what your goal is then you just
know how to come next year,” added Ross. “I know
an artist like Omarion. He’s been acknowledged on
these levels before.”
