BREAKING : Goodluck Jonathan Escapes Assassination Attempt in Bayelsa

Former President Goodluck Jonathan this morning narrowly escaped an attack by some men suspected to be militants working for the All Progressives Congressin Bayelsa State.

The men who intercepted and drove into a short motorcade conveying the former President from the Julius Berger bridge area of the State capital Yenagoa, trailed the chased the motorcade to the entrance of the Yenagoa private residence of the former President in the Kpansia area of the town, before they were overpowered and arrested by a combined team of security men attached to the former President.

Members of the arrested gang are now being taken to the headquarters of the Bayelsa State Police Command where they’re to be handed over to the police authorities for more investigation.

3,500 Male Prostitute Discovered in Abuja

If anyone thought that prostitution was a special reserve of women, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), has come out to state that about 3,500 male sex workers have been discovered in ABuja, the Federal Capital territory alone.

Coach Siasia’s Mother Freed By Abductors – Police

The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the release of Madam Beauty Siasia, the mother of former Super Eagles Coach now head of Nigeria’s Under-23 National Team, Samson Siasia.

Madam Siasia, 72, was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday, November 17 from her Odoni home in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Confirming her release on Saturday, the Bayelsa Police spokesman, ASP Asinim Butswat, said the kidnappers freed their victim following a clampdown on their location by men of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the police.

ASP Butswat said the septuagenarian was dropped off at about 1.30 a.m on Saturday.

He stressed that the police were cautious and professional in the operation to ensure that the hostage was freed unhurt.

“She is hale and hearty and has been reunited with her family and the police have intensified efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects”, he said

A footballer, who attended an Andalusian Second Divisiongame in Spain as a spectator, has been handed a year ban by the Competition Committee of the Andalusian Football Association (RFAF) after he pulled out his manhood and attempted to use it to hit the linesman with it.

The footballer was accused of performing a public act of common knowledge which was completely “undignified and disrespectful” to the assistant referee and the crowd present at the game, subsequently, he was handed “a one-year suspension of his federation licence, as well as a 468-euro fine”.

The disciplinary committee took into account the “social impact and significance of the act and its notorious and blatant nature” as criteria to impose a “medium level” punishment on the footballer.

The disciplinary committee reportedly took action after they received the file from the local office in Granada, because the footballer plied his trade with Granada-based outfit – Celtic de Pulianas, an Andalusian First Division club side.

The club side, however, escaped any disciplinary sanctions over the incident because they immediately expelled the footballer from their ranks.

Mourinho Wants Arsenal To Crash Out Of Champions League

Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has said he would like to see Greek champions Olympiacos qualify for the round of 16 at the expense of London rivals Arsenal.

However, the manager believes Arsenal are capable of reaching the last-16, despite the odds against them having lost on all three previous visits to Olympiacos.

He said: “The reality is that Arsenal can still do it. Arsenal can perfectly go to Athens and win.

And music recording studios for all our sakes and see how the Almighty God will reward you. You will be amazed how many IQs you’ll save from destruction.

We Can Still Make Top 4 But…– Mourinho Speaks On Chelsea’s UCL Chances

Embattled Chelsea FC manager, Jose Mourinho has kept the hopes of the club’s fans around the world that his team’s chances of finishing in the top four this season is still possible – but has ruled out retaining the Premier League title.

Police men in Asaba, Delta State, have arrested 21 students who are allegedly homosexuals.

According to Punch, a reliable source said that two state-owned polytechnics (names withheld) where the suspects were arrested, were popular with homosexual activities for financial gains.

Siasia’s Mum’s Kidnappers Demand N150m Ransom

The Nigeria’s U-23 Head Coach, Samson Siasia has said that those who kidnapped his aged mother, are demanding for N150 million. Siasia, who is currently with the Dream Team VI in Gambia, admitted he was gradually losing hope about his mother’s release, as those he expected to take up the case are acting unconcerned.

“My friend as I speak with you my faith in getting my mother released from the kidnappers’ den is fast diminishing because those that are supposed to handle the matter since I am on national duty seems not to be concerned at all,” he told NationSport.

“My family contact that is discussing with the kidnappers is still discussing with them and they have not changed their position on the N150 million ransom request. But all my hope is in God Almighty to touch the hearts of the kidnappers to free my mum.

“My State government has not said anything about the matter and the worst scenario is that the National Sports Commission, led by the Minister of Youths and Sports Solomon Dalung and the Director General of the NSC Mallam Al-Hassan Yakmut has not called me or any member of my family to identify with us in this our trying period. I am not happy at all. It is very sad”, Siasia told NationSport yesterday morning from Gambia.

“I have not yet had anything from the Federal Government on what they are trying to do to rescue my mother. At least everybody knows that I am on national duty and I am very worried about my mother while here in Gambia. I have not heard anything and I want to know what they are doing on my behalf.”
