Ignore Messages Requesting For BVN – CBN Warns The Public

The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned bank customers to ignore text messages alleged to be from their banks asking them to disclose personal bank informations.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Friday urged bank customers to be cautious of unknown individuals alerting them on the deactivation of their bank accounts due to incomplete registration for Bank Verification Number.

This is contained in a statement by Mr Ibrahim Mu’azu, Director Corporate Communications of the CBN posted on the apex bank’s website.

The statement gave example of the message as: “Dear customers, due to the new BVN policy of the CBN your account have been deactivated and to reactivate call….”

The CBN warned individuals and the general public that those messages are intended to lure bank account holders to reveal their personal details with which the fraudsters could use to defraud them.

The statement also made it clear that neither the CBN nor their employees or agents would ever call bank customers or send e-mail/text messages requesting for passwords, card details or Personal Identification Number.

It, however, advised bank customers to personally visit their banks for any issue requiring disclosure of personal bank details.

BREAKING NEWS: Russian Plane Crashes In Egypt, Killing All 224 On Board

A Russian plane hours ago crash in Egypt killing all 224 people on board.  None of those on board survived the crash, according to Egyptian officials.

There had been previous reports from the crash site in the mountains of Sinai that voices could be heard from one part of the wreckage. However, officials have now said that everyone on board, including 17 children, died in the crash.

The Airbus A-321 aircraft was carrying 217 passengers and seven crew members and took off from popular tourist destination Sharm el-Sheikh. The plane, operated by small Russian airline Kogalymavia and branded as Metrojet, was heading for St Petersburg in Russia. Of the passengers on board, 214 were Russian and three were Ukrainian.

The plane disappeared from radar screens 23 minutes after its take-off time of 5:51am

October 27, popular Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji reported that students of American University of Nigeria are asking for their money back after Wizkid allegedly did not show up for an event they already paid for.

Responding to the news, Wizkid who was not happy with such information going around on his name, slammed the blogger saying that he knows lying is what she uses to feed her family, adding that he should be left alone.

In his words on twitter; “I know this is all that’s feeding u and your family but please, let people with real talent and purpose live their life!”

According to Nairaland, the University authorities in an official statement signed by the office of Students Activities and Involvement stated that contrary to reports, there was no contractual agreement between the two parties because Wizkid stated his unavailability for the chosen date.

Oprah Winfrey Voice Out After She Was Ambushed By Man Claiming To Be Her Secret Son.

High ranked talk show host, Oprah Winfreyhas voiced out after she was “ambushed” by a man claiming to be her “secret son”. She was ambushed by the individual outside the Late Show in New York earlier this month.

The startled American star could be seen in an awkward encounter with a Calvin Mitchell, who claimed to have been raised by the presenter before they became estranged 20 years ago. 

Setting the record straight after the pictures surfaced online, she told Entertainment Tonight: “

“I met Calvin around the early ‘90s, I think it was 1992.I was doing a film for television called There Are No Children Here. We were shooting in the projects in Chicago and I was sitting on set during a break, and this cute little sparkly-eyed boy came underneath the yellow tape to hand me a soda.

Oprah admitted she was so “charmed” by him that she engaged in conversation with him and discovered his mum didn’t have a job and they lived in the projects.

She added that she and partner Stedman Graham decided to take him under their wing and paid for him to go to a local private school while also finding a job for his mother.

He was later expelled and Oprah decided to send him to a private boarding school in Mississippi which she thought would be better for him, but at 16 he left after claiming “the teachers didn’t like him“.

“I said, ‘Calvin, this is the moment. This is a seminal moment for you. I know you are 16 and can’t see the road ahead, but if you leave this school and refuse to get an education – I have tried to offer you an education twice – there isn’t another school I can put you in. If you leave this school, I am done. There is nothing else I can do.’ And that was my last conversation with Calvin in the early ’90s.”

When he approached her earlier this month the 62-year-old says she didn’t instantly recognise him but tried to contact him after the run-in.

But when she found out it was a set up, reportedly masterminded by the National Enquirer, she no longer wanted to speak to him, saying she was “disappointed“.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but it was the only way to get in touch with you,” Mitchell reportedly told the star outside the studio, referring to a recent interview where he discussed their relationship.

It is mandatory that anyone who wants to work with the religious body, must undergo the church’s pastoral training irrespective of the educational credentials presented. He was therefore enrolled at the theological seminary, from where he subsequently graduated and was employed as an accountant in the church.

Mr. Olawore as he was called to resume work and was assigned to counting and recording the church’s proceeds after every service. According to an insider, the church’s strong room has close circuit cameras installed in all the environ except the toilets. Olawore alongside other fellow accountants are saddled with the responsibility of counting the money and separating the hard currency from the local bill.

Olawore, a close family source revealed was very close to the bishop because of his intelligence, this paved way for him to head the department after a few years of his stewardship.

But despite being close to the richest pastor in the world, Mr. Olawore and some of his colleagues were found to be stealing from the church’s treasury. How did they do that with the Close Circuit TV monitors around?

It was gathered that they pinned the money in their hand and take excuse to visit the toilet where they would now hide it somewhere they would later have access to, because, after close of work, everyone will be subjected to thorough search before they are cleared to leave the strong room.

It became possible for them to steal hard currencies of higher denominations because these are monies that will last them sometime three days to finish counting. And while performing that duty, some of them were always using the convenience place to keep the money till after they are through with it the exercise before they would later go for their harvest” an inside source told a correspondent.

You would be shocked that many atimes the cleaners have even made themselves rich as they often see monies stashed in polythene and kept in the WC or sometime use the brush holder as piggy banks to keep the money.

Few months into this act, Olawore who is said to be blessed with the gift of prophecies was always seeing where others used to keep their stolen ‘goodies’ and as he has seen it, he would always go directly to retrieve the stolen loot.

United ready to step up Harry Kane bid

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is ready to break the bank in order to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham, according to the Sun.

United were linked with a £40m move for Kane in the summer transfer window, though Spurs and the player himself at the time were keen to continue Kane's spell at White Hart Lane. It's now reported, however, that Van Gaal feels United need a new centre forward after failing to break down Championship club Middlesbrough in the League Cup on Wednesday.

The Red Devils appear to have the ready-made answer to their striking problems in Anthony Martial, though Van Gaal has favoured out-of-form club captain Wayne Rooney in the central striking position over the last few games. 

Rooney is expected to drop into midfield in the long-term though, and while Martial may well end up doing his best work through the middle for United in the future, Van Gaal is said to realise that his side cannot solely rely on Martial's contributions in the position. With that said, United are ready to pay what could even be a record fee for an Englishman to pull off the deal.

Manchester City paid around £49m to sign Raheem Sterling from Liverpool in the summer, and the latest report claims their rivals would be willing to pay somewhere between £50m and £60m for Kane.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy though is not willing to do business and is a notoriously tough negotiator; as United have found out in the past. 

Kane broke on to the first team scene at Spurs last season by hitting 31 goals in all competitions after coming through the youth ranks, and after a difficult patch in the early months of this season the England man appears to be back on song - after he hit a hat-trick at the weekend against Bournemouth.

Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro to sue Chelsea for Constructive Dismissal

Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro is to sue the club for constructive dismissal following a row with Jose Mourinho earlier this season, according to the ?Press Association.

Carneiro was infamously berated by the Blues' manager in the 2-2 draw with Swansea at Stamford Bridge in August, after she and physio John Fearn rushed on to the pitch to treat the injured Eden Hazard. 

Mourinho was seen losing his temper on the touchline as his team - who were already down to ten men following Thibaut Courtois' sending off - were set to be cut to nine players at a crucial point in the game. Mourinho labelled the doctors "impulsive and naive" in the aftermath and even went to the lengths of removing them from first team duties in the following games.

The issues led to Carneiro leaving her role at Chelsea, and her lawyers have now served notice of a claim of constructive dismissal against the club. The move will trigger an employment tribunal, unless an out-of-court settlement can be agreed between the club and Carneiro's representatives before a hearing takes place. The latter though is expected to happen to avoid potential public embarrassment for Chelsea.

The English FA investigated the incident on the touchline which started the entire process and had cleared Mourinho of using discriminatory language towards Carneiro, though the doctor herself made a statement later criticising the governing body over how they conducted the investigation.

In a statement, Carneiro said: "I was surprised to learn that the FA was allegedly investigating the incident of August 8 via the press. I was at no stage requested by the FA to make a statement.

"I wonder whether this might be the only formal investigation in this country where the evidence of the individuals involved in the incident was not considered relevant. Choosing to ignore some of the evidence will surely influence the outcome of the findings."

China To End One-Child Policy, Allowing Families Two Children

China’s Communist Party brought to an end the decades-old “one-child” policy on Thursday, when leaders announced that all married couples would be allowed to have two children in a bid to reverse the rapid aging of the labor force.

The announcement came after the party’s Central Committee concluded a four-day meeting in a heavily guarded hotel in western Beijing where the committee approved proposals for China’s next five-year development plan, which starts next year.

The Chinese limit of one child for most families, which was enacted to slow population growth, has led to criticism in the past.

After several weeks of speculations about an alleged romance between tennis star, Serena Williams and rapper,Drake, it appears all the tales were absolutely false.

Fresh reports are claiming that the 21 Grand Slam champion is currently seeing Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of social networking site, Reddit. The duo is said to have hit it off recently after meeting at a lunch. ‘Its new,’ an insider is quoted to have revealed.

Another insider disclosed that Serena and Drake were never an item but were only involved in a ‘flirty friendship’.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is moving one step closer to God-like status in his homeland after reportedly buying a church in Stockholm.

Fastighetsvarlden, a real estate publication in Sweden, claim the striker has invested 110 million Swedish Krona [£8.51m] in a site in one of the captial’s suburbs Ostermalm.

Swedish media claim Jurka Gravic, Zlatan’s mother, is part of the holding company who purchased the property, but her son’s name is on the registered documents.

The property, known as Lindormen 13, was previously a church but has recently been renovated into residental buildings.

Fastighetsvarlden details the building: “There is a large storage room in the basement, a large garage and office on the ground floor, the second and third floor, accessed by double stairs, include more rooms.

“On the top floor, the fourth, there are five rooms including a large open room where a wide staircase goes up. On the roof is a large terrace facing the courtyard.”

Ibrahimovic has previously told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet of his preference to live in Stockholm rather than the place of his birth, Malmo: “It is much bigger, Stockholm.

“There are more options and it is easier to move. It feels more international. The fact that I’ve lived abroad a lot [means] I must have [an] international sense.”

Saudi Prince Arrested In Largest Drug Bust In Beirut Airport

Saudi Prince and four others were detained on Monday in Lebanon in the largest drug bust in the history of the Beirut airport.

Saudi prince Abdel Mohsen Bin Walid Bin Abdulaziz and four others were detained by airport security while allegedly “attempting to smuggle about two tons of Captagon pills and some cocaine,” a security source told AFP.

“The smuggling operation is the largest one that has been foiled through the Beirut International Airport,” the source said on condition of anonymity.

Captagon is the brand name for the amphetamine phenethylline, a synthetic stimulant. The banned drug is consumed mainly in the Middle East and has reportedly been widely used by fighters in Syria. The security source said the drugs had been packed into cases that were waiting to be loaded onto a private plane that was headed to Saudi Arabia.

The five Saudi citizens were still in the airport and would be questioned by Lebanon’s customs authority, the source added.

A Lecturer in Kwara state College of Education, Oro, Mr Kayode Odeyemi has appealed to the Kwara state government to pay workers salary.

He uploaded his picture while working as labourer in a building construction site to earn a paltry N1,500 to cater for his family. Mr Kayode said the hardship many lecturers are going through as a result of the non payment of salaries is unbearable.

He said he has no option than to do what he’s doing so as to be able to feed.

and cousin, Sina Rambo today woke up the sleeping dogs
by sharing a throwback picture of him and Davido which
they took at the club house, (probably rated 18) 10-years
ago causing confusion among his followers who claim the
artistes including Davido must have falsified his age.
The controversial photo above came with the

Cynthia Morgan to Davido – “Calm Dah F*ck Down”

Cynthia Morgan in a tweet on Monday Night lashed out at Her Crush – Davido on Twitter after the singer endorsed Lil Kesh for the Headies Next Rated Act.

Davido claimed Lil Kesh Deserved to win that category for reasons best known to him.

In a tweet the HKN Star tweeted:

LIL KESH IS THIS YEARS MVP !!! NEXT RATED HANDS DOWN!!! IF DEM NO GIVE YOU PULL A KANYE ON DEM!!

Thus endorsing Lil Kesh as Headies Next Rated Act not minding other young stars on the list – Korede Bello, Reekado Banks andKiss Daniel.

Cynthia in a bid to correct the singer replied:

Yo everyone on that list is MVP Yo…so calm dah f**k down!!!

Recall Cynthia Morgan earlier said she’s Crushing on Davido and if he just said “Cynthia, I Love you” they could work something out.

BREAKING: Mourinho Charged Again By FA

Jose Mourinho, Silvio Louro, Chelsea and West Ham have all been charged by the Football Association in the wake of Saturday’s London derby.

The Chelsea manager’s charge is “in relation to his language and/or behaviour towards the match officials in or around the dressing room area at half-time.”

Mourinho was sent to the stands after a half-time altercation with referee Jon Moss, who sent off Nemanja Matic in the 44th minute and then dismissed Chelsea coach Louro for his reaction to the red card.

Mourinho was only this month fined £50,000 and given a suspended stadium ban by the FA, although the latest misconduct charge is not for the same offence of criticising referees.

Louro’s red-card offence means he is also on an FA charge along with both clubs, who are accused of failing to control their players in the aftermath of the Matic sending-off.

All parties have until 6pm on Thursday to respond.
